Ronny Behnke (DB InfraGO AG) participated in the 9th International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2026), which took place from May 27 to 30, 2026, in Bol, Croatia.

The conference provided a platform for discussing various topics in the road and rail transportation sector. At this international event, the results to date from Work Package 1 (Task 1.6) of the InBridge4EU project were presented. The presentation “Assessment of permissible speeds (EN 15528) for rail vehicles on the European railway network regarding dynamic vehicle-bridge compatibility” addressed the dynamic behavior of railway bridges when trains pass over them, with a focus on resonance effects caused by the regular sequence of axle loads.

As part of the European InBridge4EU project, the speed limits specified in EN 15528:2021 were reevaluated using updated train and bridge databases as well as comprehensive parametric studies from the InBridge4EU project. The results provide a basis for future revisions of European standards.
