Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking announced its five new associated members this week, strengthening the European rail sector’s research and innovation capabilities. The University of Porto, InBridge4EU’s project coordinator entity, is a part of the new member “Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) and the Alliance (Portugal)”.
This consortium comprises a group of Portuguese-based companies, including a European infrastructure manager, railway undertaking, supplier (including an SME), research institute and universities. The goal of “the Alliance” is to drive advancements in digital twins, AI-integrated sensors and edge computing for predictive maintenance, circular economy, and climate resilience, among other areas.
The other four new members of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking are Acciona (Spain), Frequentis (Austria), Kontron (Austria), and XLAB D.O.O. (Slovenia and Spain).
